Oracle bought Acme Packet


Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Enterprise software Orecle Corp. agreed to buy the Acme Packet Inc., a maker of network to speed delivery of data, video, and voice, through the network.

Oracle bought Acme for about 2 billion dollars or 29.25 dollars per share based on the value of the number of shares outstanding on December 31, 2013, according to the Reuters report on Monday (GMT).



"Users increasingly connected and hope to communicate anytime and anywhere using the devices, applications, and networks of their choice, with Acme Packet Oracle Communications can help service providers and enterprises to meet the needs that they want," said Oracle.

The deal is worth $ 1.7 billion, net of cash, according to Oracle.

Oracle dramatically in this decade to increase its revenue through a number of acquisitions, including the purchase of cloud computing service provider company Eloqua Inc. in December for $ 810 million dollars.

Acme reported earnings per share in the fourth quarter by 9 cents on the dollar, with a total revenue of 70.7 million dollars.

In recent quarters, investing in Acme very few new projects and delaying some already done. Its shares fell 18 percent last year.
